Abstract: The article discusses the efforts by the U.S. Congress to pass the Farm, Food and National Security Act of 2024. According to the Brookings Institution, this version would impose a 30 billion dollar cut in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) over the next ten years by freezing the Thrifty Food Plan's ability to adjust for market prices. An outlook for the Farm Bill is offered.
