Abstract: The article discusses about the remote desert valley of the mountains of Oman, east of Saudi Arabia with rocks called peridotite. Topics of discussion includes the wall is made up of weathered mantle rock called peridotite. When rain percolates through cracks in the rock, it contains dissolved oxygen and carbon dioxide from the air. The water and gases react with the rock, forming solid veins of new minerals in the rocks composing of magnesium carbonate.
