Abstract: |
A disposable diaper is provided comprising a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet, and a liquid retentive absorbent member interposed between the topsheet and the backsheet. The absorbent member comprises, in admixture, a superabsorbent polymer A having a rate of absorption of 8 g/30 sec/0.3 g or more measured by DW method and a superabsorbent polymer B having a rate of absorption of 5 g/30 sec/0.3 g or less measured by DW method at a polymer A/polymer B weight ratio of 90/10 to 10/90. The admixture optionally further comprises fluff pulp in an amount of from 0 to 30% by weight. |

Claim: |
1. An absorbent article comprising a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet, and a liquid retentive absorbent member interposed between said topsheet and said backsheet, wherein said absorbent member has a fluff pulp content of 0 to 30% by weight, and the ratio of the thickness of an unloaded absorbent article is at least 1.3 times the thickness of said absorbent article under a load of 180 gf/cm2. |
Claim: |
2. An absorbent article according to claim 1, wherein said absorbent member comprises a superabsorbent polymer A having a rate of absorption of 8 g/30sec/0.3 g or more measured by Demand Wettability DW method. |
Claim: |
3. An absorbent article according to claim 1, wherein said absorbent member comprises a superabsorbent polymer B having a rate of absorption of 0.5 g/30sec/0.3 g to 5 g/30sec/0.3 g measured by DW method. |
Claim: |
4. An absorbent article according to claim 1, wherein said absorbent article contains superabsorbent polymers in an amount of 60 to 95% by weight based on the weight of said absorbent member. |
Claim: |
5. An absorbent article according to claim 4, wherein said absorbent member contains superabsorbent polymers A and B having different rates of absorption. |
Claim: |
6. An absorbent article according to claim 5, wherein the total content of the superabsorbent polymer A and the superabsorbent polymer B in said absorbent member is 60 to 95% by weight based on the weight of said absorbent member. |
Claim: |
7. An absorbent article according to claim 5, wherein said superabsorbent polymers A and B are present in said absorbent member in a weight ratio of polymer A/polymer B of 90/10 to 10/90. |
Claim: |
8. An absorbent article according to claim 1, wherein said absorbent member comprises at least one superabsorbent polymer in an amount of 50% by weight or more. |
Claim: |
9. An absorbent article according to claim 8, wherein said absorbent member comprises at least one superabsorbent polymer in an amount of from 50 to 99% by weight. |
Claim: |
10. An absorbent article according to claim 1, wherein said absorbent member has a fluff content of 20% by weight or less. |
Claim: |
11. An absorbent article according to claim 1, wherein said article is selected from the group consisting of disposable diapers, sanitary napkins, incontinence pads, and panty liners. |
