How many times do we fall in love? Is there only one love and that is that of adolescence because it has the intensity of the first time? Does a love last a lifetime? These are the questions that Sergio Bizzio throws up when he tells the story of a teenage love triangle between Lisa, Bruno and Lalo in a summer in Ramallo. The hypothesis I would follow is that each of the three characters of the nouvelle figures an idea of love and that the triangle provides a theoretical approach to the love affair. Friendship, violence, reciprocity, asymmetry, falling in love, couple are some of the notions common to an ambiguous territory as a way of narrating love. |
