More Details: Hyperviscosity syndrome (HVS) is a life-threatening haematological emergency. We report a severe HSV case in which extracorporeal plasma polymerization prevented an effective plasma exchange procedure. We elaborated an unconventional successful approach consisted in the manual removal of whole patient blood followed by red blood cells (RBC) and plasma support.
