Abstract: The article discusses the need for death investigators to possess a basic psychiatric and psychological knowledge of normal and abnormal behavior besides being knowledgeable in their field. Death investigators should show responsible attitude and respect for the people present at a death scene in carrying out their professional task. They should be aware that since crime is an interpersonal event, there are classifications of both victim and victimizer. Investigators should be alert to the possibility of false confessions by the subjects being questioned.
