Abstract: In this chapter we introduced some current and future-challenging issues that relate to the forthcoming advances in m-health technologies. We have discussed some of the fundamental issues and future scenarios regarding the next generation of mobile telemedicine systems and their migration towards 4G mobile systems. It is conclusive that some of the current and successful m-health systems will be more geared towards the emerging wireless solutions that are not feasible within the current 2.5G/3G generation of wireless systems. The chapter also discusses the performance analysis of a compact mobile robotic tele-echography system. The 2.5G and 3G performance of such an advanced telemedical system was also validated and discussed. The next decade will emerge as the most prolific in terms of mobile users globally and hence the wider use of m-health services and applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
