The article highlights the experience of Brian Simpson, a radiologic technologist at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital in California, and his fellow surfer, Todd Endris. On August 28, 2008, Endris was attacked by a shark while surfing, and Simpson was able to perform first-aid medication to his friend. Simpson received awards from his company and U.S. Representative Sam Farr. Simpson's decision to pursue a career in diagnostic imaging started after experiencing several surfing-related injuries. |
