Abstract: |
A new carboxybetaine-based wedge-shaped bipolar amphiphile is synthesized for self-assembly into an organic nanotube (ONT) at pH 3.0, showing a small inner diameter (<1 nm). The subnanometer nanospace of ONT shows confinement effect, which stabilizes encapsulated small molecules. It shows a better effect than cyclodextrin in the protection of methylene blue from the reduction by glutathione. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
