Abstract: The article discusses the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza A(H5) in dairy cattle detected in March 2024, which has resulted in human cases among farm workers since April. Topics include the findings from a serosurvey of bovine veterinary practitioners to assess exposure to HPAI A(H5), the prevalence of antibodies indicative of recent infection among veterinary professionals, and the lack of reported symptoms among those with positive serology.
