Abstract: The article in the Journal of Neurological Surgery. Part B. Skull Base discusses the survival benefits of adjuvant chemoradiation in adult patients with sellar/suprasellar atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumors (ATRTs). A study of 48 patients revealed a significant negative correlation between age at diagnosis and overall survival, with those undergoing adjuvant chemoradiation showing a mean overall survival of 23.8 months compared to 2.65 months for those who did not. The research suggests that age at diagnosis and treatment with adjuvant chemoradiation play crucial roles in improving overall survival rates for adult patients with ATRTs.
