Different parts of the Capparis spinosa L. exhibited a wide range of biological activity, including antioxidant, cardiovascular, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, antipyretic, diuretic and hypoglycemic due to the presence of different classes of substances. We have isolated sums of biologically active substances from the buds and fruits of C. spinosa growing in Uzbekistan. The composition analysis of the product isolated from caper buds showed that it contains 25-30% polysaccharides, 17-25% proteins and 5-10% flavonoids, while the product isolated from caper fruits contains 30-35% polysaccharides, 25-30% proteins and 5-10% flavonoids. This study revealed moderate hypoglycemic and anticoagulant activity, along with low toxicity of the studied polysaccharide and protein fractions. The most pronounced hypoglycemic effect was noted on the 3rd hour after a single administration of the studied substances at doses of 100-200 mg/kg, at that the polysaccharide sum from caper buds reduces blood sugar levels by 20.6-26.8%, and polysaccharide sum from C. spinosa fruits at doses of 50-150 mg/kg by 21.3-20.6%, respectively. It was shown that both sums of polysaccharides have a sufficiently high anticoagulant activity, decreasing blood coagulation period by 1.6-1.7 times in relation to the control. Both polysaccharide sums orally administered at doses of 500-5000 mg/kg in male mice did not induce any death or toxic symptoms in treated mice.
