Abstract: The article discusses the establishment of a population-based birth cohort in Ontario, Canada, to study traumatic brain injuries (TBI) from a lifespan perspective. The cohort includes 3.6 million newborns born between 1992 and 2020 and captures data on TBI-related healthcare visits, sociodemographic characteristics, pre-injury and post-injury health status, and health service use. The study aims to provide comprehensive, longitudinal data on the burden of TBI and secondary health conditions, with a focus on the transition from adolescence to adult care. The cohort is available in the ICES repository for confidential access, and potential collaborators can contact Dr. Vincy Chan for more information. [Extracted from the article]
