The present contribution provides an overview of the SOTANCP5 conference and the progress that was reported in state-of-the-art experiment and theoretical cluster studies. An exciting array of topics ranging from correlations, halo nuclei, clustering in reactions and nuclear astrophysics, alpha-gas states, ab intio theory, alpha-particle like cluster structures, the role of the continuum and the latest developments in experimental facilities.
