Abstract: The article identifies mutants in groundnut Arachis hypogea L. induced through sodium azide. The experiment investigates the effect of sodium azide on the morphological traits of Arachis hypogea L. varieties including Kadiri-6, Gujarat Gold, Haritha Andhra and Kadiri Amaravati such as germination percentage, survival percentage, seedling height, days to maturity and flowering, number of sterile plants, plant height at maturity, number of pods per plant, sound mature kernels and kernel yield.
