Abstract: |
This article presents the findings of a study on the accuracy of different equations used to estimate glomerular filtration rate (GFR) in European adults with type 2 diabetes and chronic kidney disease (CKD). The study compared equations based on creatinine, cystatin C, a combination of both markers, and a new equation incorporating additional filtration markers. The results suggest that the equation based on a panel of filtration markers performs well across patient subgroups without explicitly considering race. These findings contribute to the ongoing discussion on the most accurate equation to use in European populations with type 2 diabetes and CKD. However, it is important to note that the study was conducted on a small cohort and may not be applicable to all individuals. [Extracted from the article] |
