Abstract: This article explores the use of piezoelectric actuators and the Taguchi method to optimize the repair of damaged structures. The authors emphasize the importance of monitoring and repairing aging structures for structural integrity. They discuss various studies that have investigated the effectiveness of piezoelectric actuators in repairing cracked structures and introduce a hybrid method that combines active and passive repair techniques. The study utilizes the design of experiments method to optimize the repair performance by varying parameters such as the PZT actuator, adhesive thickness, and shear modulus of adhesive. The finite element method is used to analyze the data and evaluate the most effective process for reducing stress concentration and improving structural durability. The study concludes that optimizing these parameters can effectively reduce stress intensity in damaged structures. [Extracted from the article]
