Abstract: Lights associated with urban structures, industry and transport networks, such as building exterior and interior lighting, security lights and street lights, are thus imposing dramatic changes on nocturnal environments and their inhabitants. Light pollution and its types Artificial light threatens the effective functioning of astronomical facilities, human well-being, and the balance in ecologically sensitive habitats. and it increases the use of largely fossil fuel-based energy sources (IDA [11]). Therefore, lamps with high UV and blue light emission, such as mercury-vapour lights and white LEDs, are highly attractive to a great diversity and large numbers of insect species, from distances up to 130 m. Over the last century, the introduction of electrical lighting at night is increasing levels of light intensity that are much higher than natural nocturnal light. [Extracted from the article]
