Abstract: The article focuses on mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) diversity in lung disease, as revealed by whole-genome sequencing. Topics discussed include examined the genetic relatedness of isolates from individual patients, using pairwise single nucleotide variant distances, and MAC isolates from patients with nontuberculous mycobacterial lung disease represent the same infection.
