| Abstract (English): |
The Efficient Microorganisms (ME) are a combination of beneficial microorganisms of natural origin, which have been widely used in agriculture and in the preservation of the environment. The objective of this study is to determine the possible dermal and ophthalmic irritability of ME (ME-AgroAmbiental). The test was carried out in rabbits of the Cenp: NZB line from the CENPALAB with a weight between 1.8 and 2.0 kg of female sex. The effect of ME on the skin and ocular structures was observed immediately after 1, 24, 48 and 72 hours after application. The Draize scale was applied to evaluate injuries to eye structures and skin. The index of dermal irritability and ophthalmic irritability index of the ME was 0, so it is concluded that the dermal and ophthalmic application of ME in rabbits did not cause toxic signs, the ME obtains the classification of non-irritating dermal and ophthalmic. Los Microorganismos Eficientes (ME) son una combinación de microorganismos beneficiosos de origen natural, que han sido ampliamente utilizados en la agricultura y en la preservación del medio ambiente. El objetivo de este estudio es determinar la posible irritabilidad dérmica y oftálmica del ME (ME-AgroAmbiental). El ensayo se llevó a cabo en conejos de la línea Cenp:NZB procedentes del CENPALAB con un peso entre 1.8 y 2.0 kg de sexo hembras. El efecto del ME en la piel y las estructuras oculares fue observado inmediatamente después de 1, 24, 48 y 72 horas de ser aplicado. La escala Draize fue aplicada para evaluar las lesiones en las estructuras oculares y la piel. El índice de irritabilidad dérmica y índice de irritabilidad oftálmica del ME fue de 0, por lo que se concluye que la aplicación dérmica y oftálmica de ME en conejos no ocasionó signos tóxicos, el ME obtiene la clasificación de No Irritante Dérmico y Oftálmico.
