| Abstract: |
The article discusses studies on the prevalence of laptop theft. There had been found to be one computer theft for every four business locations in the first half of 2008. Also, thieves were more likely to target buildings greater than one million square feet. Thieves were found to be undeterred by tenant floors with closed-circuit television (CCTV). Primary methods of gaining access to tenant space were breaking and entering, an unknown entry method, social engineering and doors found unlocked. |
