Abstract: We study the link between college education and economic beliefs. More specifically, we study whether college education is associated with promarket beliefs. We use a new data set derived from a survey conducted in Guatemala in 2022. Our main results suggest that individuals with college education voice less support for private property, markets, and privatization but more support for individual liberty relative to those without college education. We propose some explanations for these results based on recent literature. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
