Abstract: Jim Chanos, a well-known short seller, has been sued by a partner who accuses him of embezzling company funds and benefiting his girlfriend. The partner claims that Chanos used his firm as a "piggy bank" and borrowed $10 million from the company without intending to pay it back. The lawsuit also alleges that Chanos sold a luxury apartment owned by the company without informing his partners. Chanos denies the claims and calls the lawsuit "puzzling and baseless." The partner is seeking legal action to restrain Chanos from transferring the proceeds of the apartment sale and to remove him as general partner of the firm. [Extracted from the article]
