Abstract: |
The results of studies of explosively welded NiCr-alloy (Cr20Ni80) + titanium alloy (OT4/VT20) composites are presented. The main parameters of explosive welding have been calculated. The wavy profile parameters and peel strength of composites after explosive welding in various modes was determined. It is shown that the change in the structure and properties of the welded joint is due to both the change in the initial hardness of the titanium alloy and the change in the collision point velocity. It was established that the molten metal are heterogeneous mixtures based on Ni(Cr,Ti) and Ti(Ni,Al) solid solutions and NiTi and Ni3Ti intermetallics. FEM modeling was carried out to determine the lifetime of the molten metal in the liquid state during the welding process. The calculated values of the molten metal cooling rates are 107–1010 K/s. Due to these values both stable crystalline and unstable (amorphous) phases are formed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
