The article reports that the Monroe County Prosecutor's Office, in collaboration with Indiana University Public Policy Institute and the local NAACP branch, has been conducting an assessment of prosecutorial decisions to understand racial and ethnic disparities. It mentions findings suggest overrepresentation of Black residents in referrals compared to the county's population, later case resolution for Black defendants, leading to recommendations for addressing disparities in criminal history. |
