Abstract: The article focuses on the geographic distribution extensions and records of valid bee names or species of the genus Hymenoptera in Santa Catarina, Brazil. It estimates that between 25,000 and 30,000 bee species will be distributed in different regions throughout the world, 1,678 of which are valid names for the species in the country. These species are distributed into five subfamilies including Apinae, Andreninae, Halictinae, Colletinae, and Megachilinae. The genera, species and some additional comments for these species are also presented.
