Abstract: |
The article explores the use of tranexamic acid (TXA) in various surgical contexts, emphasizing its role in reducing blood loss and improving surgical outcomes. Different studies highlight the efficacy of TXA in minimizing bleeding and the need for blood transfusions, but also point out uncertainties regarding optimal dosing and potential thromboembolic risks. While TXA shows promise in enhancing surgical field visibility, further research is needed to address these uncertainties, especially in specialized areas like liver surgery, to develop tailored protocols for optimal patient outcomes.
