Abstract: |
This paper uses correspondence analysis to examine relationships between homicide offenders and their victims. Forty-three years of homicide data from the Supplementary Homicide Reports (FBI, 1980- 2022) were combined into a single large dataset and used to investigate the relationships between homicide offenders and the weapons they use along with the relationships between the victims and offenders. This study is unique in two respects: the use of correspondence analysis, an excellent for finding relationships in studies that involve large, two-way tables, and the combining of two variables to create a single composite variable. The results of this research show distinct response pattern differences among the variables studied. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
