Abstract: We captured the Spix's Disk-winged Bat, Thyroptera tricolor Spix, 1823, at two locations in Santa Catarina state, southern Brazil. These are the first records of occurrence of T. tricolor from the state and expand the southern limit of the species' geographical range by 408 km. With our new data, 52 species of bat are now confirmed to occur in Santa Catarina; this state has the second richest bat fauna in southern Brazil. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
