The current S2k guidelines on treatment of thermal injuries in adults are summarized in this article from the perspective of anesthesiology, emergency medicine and intensive care medicine. The guidelines were prepared under the auspices of the German Society for Burn Medicine with the participation of other professional societies and interest groups and were published last year in revised form by the AWMF. Zusammenfassung: Die aktuelle S2k-Leitlinie „Behandlung thermischer Verletzungen des Erwachsenen" wird in diesem Artikel aus anästhesiologischer, notfallmedizinscher und intensivmedizinscher Sicht zusammengefasst. Die Leitlinie wurde unter Federführung der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Verbrennungsmedizin unter Beteiligung weiterer Fachgesellschaften und Interessenvertretungen erstellt und letztes Jahr in überarbeiteter Form bei der AWMF publiziert.
