She cites the focus of the media on the Global North as one of the reasons behind the lack of public awareness about the condition of the Congo rain forest. Studies show that a 1.5 degree Celsius increase in temperature in Africa would be devastating. She emphasizes the need for climate activism in light of the global impact of the destruction of the forest. |
