Abstract: The natCu(p,x)65Zn and natCu(d,x)65Zn reactions used for beam monitoring have been considered to evaluate. All available experimental cross-section data for natCu(p, x)65Zn and natCu(d, x)65Zn reactions have been obtained and compared with the nuclear model calculations using ALICE-IPPE and TALYS-1.9. A comparison of the previously evaluated data for these reactions under the umbrella of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is given The thick target yield (TTY) of the 65Zn was calculated from recommended excitation functions obtained by a modified statistical procedure. Analyses of the radio-impurities have been done. Assessment of 65Zn yields and related radionuclide impurities suggest that natCu(p,x)65Zn process over the energy range of 20 → 9 MeV could be a method of choice for the for the higher accuracy of beam monitoring.
