Abstract: |
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and ankylosing spondylitis (AS) are chronic progressive inflammatory diseases. Their etiology and symptomatology are different and the coexistence is a rare situation. The new criteria for diagnostic help us to differentiate between those, but a problem may arise when the patient has symptoms typical for both diseases. Early treatment with different disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs and biological agents may delay the progress of these disorders and can cover-up other suggestive symptoms. The purpose of this research is to compare our experience in diagnosis and treatment of concomitant RA and AS with the other researchers' expertise. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
