Claim: 1-15. (canceled)
Claim: 16. A method of treatment of acute neuronal injury, which method comprises administering an effective amount of a BACE polypeptide, to a human or animal in need of such treatment wherein said BACE polypeptide binds to Nogo.
Claim: 17. (canceled)
Claim: 18. A method according to claim 16 wherein said acute neuronal injury is selected from spinal injury, stroke, brain injury and peripheral nervous system damage.
Claim: 19. (canceled)
Claim: 20. A composition comprising a BACE polypeptide, or a polynucleotide encoding a BACE polyeptide wherein said BACE polypeptide binds Nogo, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent.
Claim: 21. A method of treatment of a neoplastic, hyperproliferative or dysproliferative disorder, which method comprises administering an effective amount of a BACE polypeptide, a polynucleotide encoding a BACE to a human or animal in need of such treatment wherein said BACE polypeptide binds Nogo.
Claim: 22. (canceled)
Claim: 23. A method according to claim 21 wherein said neoplastic, hyperproliferative or dysproliferative disorder is a disorder of the central nervous system.
Claim: 24. A method according to claim 16 wherein said BACE polypeptide is selected from SEQ ID NO:2 and SEQ ID NO:13.
Claim: 25. A composition according to claim 20 wherein said BACE polypeptide is selected from SEQ ID NO:2 and SEQ ID NO:13.
Claim: 26. A method according to claim 21 wherein said BACE polypeptide is selected from SEQ ID NO:2 and SEQ ID NO:13.
