| More Details: | Le fonti letterarie testimoniano la persistenza dell’assetto costituzionale locrese fino alla metà del IV sec. a.C., frutto del codice di leggi attribuite a Zaleuco. Al contrario, la critica è concorde nel ritenere che almeno alcune istituzioni documentate nelle 37 Tavole bronzee databili tra IV e III a.C., quali le tribù e le fratrie, rappresentino la persistenza di tali elementi sotto il regime democratico sorto in seguito alla cacciata di Dionisio II. In particolare è legittimo domandarsi se le sigle anteposte ai nomi dei magistrati, che riflettono le unità civiche nelle quali i cittadini locresi erano registrati, siano davvero una creazione recenziore o se invece testimonino anch’esse un elemento di continuità rispetto all’epoca precedente. Literary sources testify to the persistence of the Locrian constitutional order until the mid-4th century BC, based on the code of laws attributed to Zaleuco. Conversely, critics agree that at least some institutions documented in the 37 bronze tablets datable between IV and III BC, such as tribes and phratries, represent the persistence of these elements under the democratic regime that arose following the expulsion of Dionysius II. In particular, it is legitimate to ask whether the acronyms placed before the names of the magistrates, which reflect the civic units in which the Locrian citizens were registered, are really a recent creation or if instead they too testify to an element of continuity with respect to the previous era, as some epigraphic documents would suggest. |
