Abstract: The article presents the study which assessed the aristolochic acid doses related to nontrivial risk of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and the risk of aristolochic acid-related upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UUC). In the study, relative risks (RR), hazard ratios (HR), and odd ratios (OR) were directly calculated. Based on the results, aristolochic acid exposure is related to increased risk of UUC and cumulative aristolochic acid exposure is linked to ESRD risk.
