There is a continuous increase in the use of catheter interventional therapies in pediatric cardiac care, particularly for simple and moderate cardiac malformations, both alone and as part of hybrid procedures. Because of their prevalence in children, VSD closure and pulmonary valve implantation are perhaps of greatest importance. New VSD occluders allow transcatheter VSD closure in the perimembranous region, even under 10 kg body weight. A similar major advance is the development of self-expandable pulmonary valves, which reduce the reoperation rate in patients with tetralogy of Fallot. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |

A katéter-intervenciós terápiák folyamatos térnyerését látjuk a gyermekkardiológiai ellátásban, elsősorban az egyszerű és a középsúlyos szívfejlődési rendellenességek esetén, mind önállóan, mind hibrid beavatkozások részeként. A gyermekkori gyakorisága miatt a VSD zárása és a pulmonalis billentyű beültetése bír talán a legnagyobb jelentőséggel. Az újabb katéteres záróeszközök lehetővé teszik, hogy a perimembran régióban, illetve kisdedkorban is végezhetünk transzkatéteres kamrai sövényhiány zárást, akár 10 kg-os testsúly alatt is. Hasonló jelentős áttörést hozott az önmagában nyíló (self-expandable) transzkatéteres pulmonalis billentyű megjelenése, mely elsősorban a Fallot-be-tegcsoportban tudja a reoperációs rátát csökkenteni.
