Abstract: The article presents a case study of an asymptomatic 31-year-old man with chronic hepatitis B and a history of lamivudine use experiencing heart murmur. Multiple imaging studies confirmed the diagnosis of aorta-right atrial (RA) tunnel (ARAT) and placed under observation and underwent phase-contrast cine magnetic resonance imaging (PC-MRI) to quantify the ratio of Qp/Qs and shunt volume. It discusses the need to assess the benefit versus risk in the correction of ARAT in asymptomatic patients.
